About the event
Join us for Let It Rot! — a fun and educational vermiculture workshop where kids will create their own mini worm farms to take home! This hands-on activity begins with a little "homework" as each child brings a recycled container (like a produce tub or Tupperware) and a few food scraps from breakfast or dinner. Together, we’ll set up a worm ecosystem, exploring the important roles that worms and soil organisms play in decomposing organic materials.
Throughout this interactive workshop, young learners will dive into the basics of soil ecology and learn how worms work to transform food scraps into compost. Each child will leave with a newfound appreciation for these tiny decomposers and their very own mini worm farm to continue the process at home!
